Not all online poker bonus offers are created equal. Sad, but true. A lot of online poker bonus offers look great, but when you look closely, some are worth less than others – a lot less.
Most poker rooms only offer an initial sign up bonus to their players. A few years back, when this page was first published, there were a few poker rooms that offered a monthly bonus to their existing players. One room even offered a monthly bonus purely based on your play – no deposit needed.
Sadly, that practice seems to have died out now. Very few poker rooms are offering a fixed monthly bonus, reload or otherwise, any more.
What happens now is that some poker rooms selectively offer a bonus to some of their players based on certain criteria. For instance, if you were a regular player and suddenly stopped playing for a while, you might find an email in your inbox from that poker room offering you a reload bonus. This is to entice you back to play there again. Makes sense.
Not all rooms do that, but some do. The easiest way to find out which rooms will offer you this is to stop playing at your regular room and claim a new deposit bonus at some other room.
Even if you are perfectly happy playing at your current room with no bonus to earn, it makes good sense to have a few active poker accounts. Having only one will leave you scrambling if something untoward should happen with it. Then you will have to go through the procedure of signing up and verifying your identity and payment method at a new room. And you could end up doing that when all you want is to play a game of cards for a while.
